Lawson and Tiffany Bates Reveal Name of Baby on the Way — and Their Son William, 16 Months, Got to Pick the Special Moniker!

Lawson and Tiffany Bates’ son had a major responsibility this week!

Bringing Up Bates star Lawson, 33, shared a video on his YouTube channel, revealing the name of his baby on the way with pregnant wife Tiffany. For the reveal, Lawson enlisted the help of his son William, 16 months, along with several stuffed animals, to decide the name of his future baby boy.

The soon-to-be parents of two attached several name tags onto the stuffed animals before setting them in a straight line in front of William. One by one, the toddler picked up an animal, eliminating that name option. In the end, the teddy bear with the name tag “Theodore” was left standing, revealing the name of their baby on the way.

“Oh boy, guys. 30 minutes later and an Oreo. Will has made his final choice. Theodore it is!” he said.
“I think it’s adorable and it’s going to be perfect.”

Going deeper into the name selection, Tiffany shared that they aimed to name their son after her.

“I wanted to find something where [it] is like the boy name for Tiffany,” the expectant mom shared. “So Tiffany comes from the Greek word Theophonyia. So, we took Theo from Theophania and made it Theodore. So, it’s going to be Theodore. Theo for Tiffany.”

Echoing his wife’s sentiments, Lawson excitedly talked about how long they’ve been holding onto this special name, adding how “really cool” it is for it to reflect Tiffany.

“We’ve been waiting to share this name for a little bit now, and we are so excited. A reflection of Tiffany is really cool because it’s another boy, so you can’t name it Tiffany, but this is the perfect blend,” he explained. “Theo, Theodore, Teddy. We don’t know which nickname we’re going to call him yet.”
